Psychological Counselling or Psychotherapy or Talk Therapy is the use of psychological methods, particularly when based on regular personal interaction to help a person change behaviour and overcome problems in desired ways. We are offering a wide range of psychotherapy which are given below.

Psychoanalytic Therapy– The first scientific theory of counseling, developed by Sigmund Freud, psychoanalysis is a comprehensive theory of personality, a philosophy of human nature and a method of psychotherapy. It focuses on the irrational, instinctual, unconscious forces that motivate human behavior. Major Emphasis is on childhood experiences occurring during the first 5 years, which are believed to determine the later development of personality.

Adlerian Therapy– Adler’s theory Emphasizes the role of consciousness, taking responsibility, creating one’s own destiny style of life, social interest, creative self and other interesting constructs and finding goals to give life direction.

Existential Therapy– This is a philosophy of counselling rather than a therapeutic technique. Existential approach stresses a concern for what it means to be a human being. it suggests certain interesting themes that are part of the human condition- such as freedom and responsibility, anxiety, guilt, Awareness of being finite, creating meaning in the world and shaping one’s future by making active choices.

Person-Centered Therapy- This therapy is also known as Client Center or Non-directive Therapy. As a theory rooted in humanistic philosophy, it places emphasis on the basic goodness of human nature and gives respect and responsibility to clients dealing with their problems.

Gestalt Therapy– This form of therapy is based upon the principles of Gestalt Psychology, such as holism, field theory, the figure formation process and organismic self regulation. It is an experiential therapy that stresses awareness and integration.

Reality Therapy– A form of short-term therapy. This therapy is to help the clients to learn more realistic behavior and to achieve success in life.

Feminist Therapy- This approach explores women’s identity development, self-concept, goals and aspirations, and emotional well being.

Family system therapy- This systematic approach is based on the assumption that the key to changing the individual is understanding and working with the family.

Behavior Therapy– The basic philosophy behind all forms of behavior therapy is simple. All behaviors are learned including Maladjusted Behavior, whatever that has been learned. The aim of behavior therapy therefore is creating conditions under which undesirable behavior patterns can be unlearned and desirable once can be learned. Next few are sub-branches of Behavior Therapy.

(A)  Aversion Therapy

(B)  Systematic Desensitization

(C)  Vivo Exposure Therapy

(D)  Implosive Therapy

(E)  Social Learning Therapy

(F)  Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)

Cognitive Behavior Therapy– As is true of Behavior Therapy; the Cognitive Behavioral approaches are quite diverse. A recent Publication has identified more than 20 different Therapies that have been labeled ‘Cognitive’ or ‘Cognitive Behavior’. But  the once that had been influential in catching the imagination of counselors in recent times are Albert Ellis’ Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), Aaron Beck’s Cognitive Therapy (CT) and Meichenbaum’s Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT). Whatever the differences, these theories assume that psychological distress is largely due to disturbances in the Cognitive processes and this can be set right through a structured psycho educational procedures.

Individual Therapy– Individual Therapy with children and adolescents may take many different forms. With younger children, for instance PLAY THERAPY may help to reveal a Child’s conflict and his or her usual ways of dealing with them. In Play Therapy, the Therapist typically follows the child’s lend and gives verbal expression to what they observe in the child’s play, which helps the child develop more effective ways of dealing with these issues. Some more Therapies are Narrative Therapy, Expressive Therapy, Art Therapy, Music and Dance Therapy, Play Therapy and Occupational Therapy. Hypnotherapy is also one kind of Psychotherapy.
